T-Minus seven days...

I'm a certifiable, hot mess.

Why you ask?

Well, it's simple really. Because in exactly one week (seven long, torturous days) baby number five will be released into the wild. No, sillies, I'm not popping out a real kiddo, (God knows I have enough of them as it is) My book baby is totally what I meant, here, jeez. ♥

*giggles*

First, I want to tell you little about how this bookie came along. It was a total wing-it book. One I wrote in literally a month. I had Callie in my head, telling me this story in a day, and she wouldn't shut up until I wrote it all down. So I did. And it was a hot, hot mess. (at least for a little while.)

After I cleaned it up, I went the query the agent route first. (Had some serious interest, too.) But being a newbie, I didn't realize that querying agents AND pub houses was pretty much something you just don't do. (oops!)  BUUUT, things happen for a reason and I wouldn't, for the life of me, change the course that this book has gone down.

Georgia from Swoon Romance favored my pitch during an online Twitter pitch party. (See!! Those fabulous events really do work. See my post HERE for that story.) And such is the history that is Finding Her Way Back.

Finding Her Way Back isn't exactly my run-of-the-mill-book, either. Yes, it's most definitely romanced centered. But it's also family centered, as well. I won't give a lot a way, but just be warned that the cute, adorable factor that is my blurb has nothing on the REAL story that is Callie--Calla Lily--Bennett.

Any who, in honor of this special ONE WEEK UNTIL MY RELEASE occasion, (sorry, I'm just a teeny bit pumped, if you can't tell.) I decided to let you get to know my characters a bit more. Share some of their one liners, maybe? Give you a peek into their heads and thoughts. And yes, show off my pic inspirations as well. (All courtesy of the interwebs, by the way.)

So without further ado, here I go!! *gulps*

Picture

Meet Callie, a chubby-sexy nineteen-year-old girl who fears high heels, commitments, and has a love/hate relationship with her running shoes.

Isn't she adorbs? When I first started hunting for my Cal, it was difficult to find the girl who suited her cuteness and her curves. This girl (pardon me for not knowing her given name) is EXACTLY who I saw in my head as I wrote the story.

Callie's got a mouth on her. An attitude, but not in the sense that's she's mean. More so she's got a wall built around her that can't be knocked down. Well, that is until she see's Ky again. Ky being her once skinny-skater-boy-turned-sex-god, ex-best friend, Ky. But we'll get to him next. Trust me.

My favorite Callie one-liner:

"Yes, for Ky’s penis, I would so kick my dad’s ass tonight."

*giggles* I'm so stinkin mature, right?

Meet Ky; a nineteen-year-old wanna be country music singer and a boy-turned-man who still wears a proverbial skateboard around his neck from wasted high school days.

I've shared this stunning man's picture many a times on Twitter and Facebook. But let's get one thing straight. He. Will always. Be mine. But, um...could you not tell my hubby this? Cause, well, you know...

Oh, Ky. My sweet, sweet, Ky. You want a man who treats his lady right? THIS is the guy. I wrote Ky with one thought on my brain: RESPECT. And boy does he do that, and then some. Not only is the guy sexy as SIN, but he's fights for Cal; is so determined to make her his that he never. Ever. Gives. Up.

My favorite Ky one-liner:

“I’m going to touch you now, Calla Lily. And then tomorrow? Tomorrow, I’ll hold your hand.”

Swooooon. :)

Okay. So I have to introduce you all to Anna, next. (Callie's older, not so wise, mean sister.) No, not the chickadee from FROZEN. (Mind you I wrote this book BEFORE FROZEN was even released, so take that. Boo-yah)

Anna is a misunderstood bitch. (Pardon my language, but there is really no other word to describe her.) In a way, she's a villain, but she's also a girl with whom you might eventually love in the end. I'll let you all be the judge of that, though. Her story is told in a different novel entitled: NO SUCH THING AS INFINITY.

And oh, boy is she in for it.

But the thing about Anna is, her and Cal are one in the same in a way: two lost girls who have no idea how to move on from a tragedy. (And NO, I will not even give you a hint as to what that tragedy is.)

Personally, I think I loved writing her story more than any other girl. Why? Because she was an unreliable narrator with a heart laced in evil, but lined inside with love.

So, there you have it. My only hope for Finding Her Way Back, is that somehow, in some way, this story touches your heart like it's touched mine.
